As an Application Support Engineer on the Performance Team, you will be responsible for addressing performance-related issues and ensuring the platform runs smoothly and efficiently.This role involves optimising SQL queries, scripting in JavaScript, and collaborating with various teams to maintain and enhance the performance of the platform.About the Employer: A highly sought-after employer in the market.They are constantly recognised as a great place to work.This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a leading organisation and develop your career in a dynamic and supportive environment.Job Details: Contract Duration: 12-month contract with a high likelihood of converting to a permanent position.Location: Sydney CBD, conveniently close to public transport.Working Mode: Hybrid (3 days work from home, 2 days in the office).Pay Rate: AUD $53.35 + Super per hour.Training: Extensive training on the platform will be provided within the first few months.Key Responsibilities: Performance Optimisation: Analyse and optimise SQL queries to improve database performance.Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in the platform.Monitor system performance and implement enhancements to ensure optimal efficiency.Technical Support: Provide tier 2 support for performance-related issues within applications.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, collaborating with other team members as needed.Incident and Problem Management: Manage incidents and service requests related to performance issues.Conduct root cause analysis to identify and mitigate recurring performance problems.System Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including system patches and upgrades, with a focus on maintaining high performance.Ensure the platform is updated with the latest performance improvements and security updates.Configuration and Customisation: Customise and configure applications to optimise performance.Develop and maintain efficient workflows, scripts, and configurations using JavaScript.Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with end-users, business analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver performance-enhancing solutions.Communicate technical issues and performance solutions to non-technical stakeholders effectively.Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of performance tuning processes, procedures, and system configurations.Update knowledge base articles related to performance optimisation.Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users and other team members on performance-related best practices.Stay updated with the latest features, performance optimisation techniques, and industry best practices.Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Experience: Proven experience in an application support role with a focus on performance optimisation of web-based / SaaS products.Strong experience with SQL and query optimisation.Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and query optimisation.Strong scripting skills in JavaScript.Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, AJAX, XML).Familiarity with performance monitoring and diagnostic tools.Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.Other Requirements: Must be Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident Preferred Certifications: ITIL Foundation Certification
