We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior AOD Clinician to join our team located at the Wangaratta Therapeutic Community, an Alcohol and Drug Residential Rehabilitation in Wangaratta on an ongoing full-time basis.
This role will be required to work on site and is an exciting opportunity for an emerging leader seeking a challenge and looking to make a meaningful contribution at a purposeful organisation.
The Wangaratta Therapeutic Community is a 30-bed facility which provides an up to 12 months residential AOD rehabilitation program for adults over 18 years of age experiencing harm and significant problems relating to their AOD use.
ABOUT THE ROLE The Senior AOD Clinician works within a multidisciplinary team and provides a program of therapeutic interventions that support individuals in reaching/exceeding their goals.These interventions include individual case management and counselling, and group therapy and psychoeducation.
The Senior AOD Clinician supports the Team Leader Clinical in implementing programs based on clinical best practice within a Therapeutic Community (TC).The role will support all staff in fostering the TC process of mutual self-help to guide the residents through a process of self-discovery and change.
The Senior AOD Clinician and their team, work collegially with all staff to ensure that residents receive the full benefits of the program and that most residents can complete the full program and graduate.
Tertiary qualifications in addictive behaviours/AOD, health, welfare, behavioural or social sciences, and a minimum of 3 years' experience within the AOD sector is preferred.
Compliance with the AOD Workforce Minimum Qualification Strategy or or willingness to undertake minimum required study within the first 12 months of employment is required.
ABOUT YOU Degree level tertiary qualifications in addictive behaviours, counselling, social work or similar, and a minimum of 3 years' experience working in the AOD sector.

Demonstrated experience working therapeutically with people who experience issues relating to their use of alcohol and/or other drugs, and co-occurring mental health conditions.
A strong theoretical and practical understanding of relapse prevention.
Demonstrated experience working within an AOD residential rehabilitation setting.
Maintains hope and role models a positive outlook even during challenging times.
The ability to establish respectful professional relationships that have clear boundaries with consumers, staff, and partner organisations.
