We have an exciting opportunity for a AOD Counsellor to provide therapeutic support to people at risk of harm due to alcohol and other drugs use with a specific focus on young people, pregnant people and parents with young children. The AOD counsellor will be a part of a specialist AOD multidisciplinary team based in Singleton and servicing the surrounding communities.

Tertiary Qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Social Worker or equivalent relevant experienceAt least 2 years demonstrated experience in the area of AOD and mental healthKnowledge and experience in the provision of evidence based therapeutic services to people at risk of harm due to AOD dependancy and the ability to apply a trauma-informed and person-centred approach to these services.Experience participating in and actively contributing to multiservice case review meetings with psychologists, psychiatrists, allied health professionals, local health district staff and other relevant government and non-government organisations.Excellent relationship, negotiation and conflict management skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with service providers, staff, peers and key stakeholders in the local communityExperience in implementing and monitoring of quality assurance processes across customer service programs, including feedback informed treatment, program review and risk management.
