What you'll do:

As an AO7 Principal Project Officer, your role will be pivotal in driving business improvement initiatives within the department. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, including enhancement of planning tools, templates, business processes, systems, and capability. Your ability to utilise data effectively will be key in assessing the effectiveness of current processes and proposing evidence-based solutions for improvement. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in monitoring the implementation of process changes and evaluating their impact.

Identify, analyse, and recommend improvements to organisational processes
Support in coordinating and collating inputs into a digital 'project planning handbook'
Assist in developing and implementing quality assurance frameworks to enhance project planning
Prepare reports, process documentation, and presentations to support continuous improvement efforts
Utilise data to assess the effectiveness of current processes and propose evidence-based solutions for improvement
Monitor the implementation of process changes and evaluate their impact


What you bring:

The ideal AO7 Principal Project Officer candidate will bring a wealth of experience in infrastructure planning or strategic policy. Your confidence in using various software applications such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, Department of Education Content Manager and Microsoft Power Bi will be essential in this role. Your proven ability to identify, analyse, and recommend improvements to organisational processes will set you apart from other candidates. Additionally, your experience in developing and implementing quality assurance frameworks coupled with your strong report writing skills will make you a valuable asset to the team.



Experience in infrastructure planning, strategic policy or similar is highly regarded
Confidence in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Teams
Experience with Microsoft Power Bi is desirable
Ability to identify, analyse, and recommend improvements to organisational processes
Experience in developing and implementing quality assurance frameworks
Strong report writing skills
