Do you have experience in the construction, building, or maintenance industry? We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable WHS & Environmental Advisor to join our team in Far North Queensland. This role is integral to ensuring the safety and well-being of our team members and stakeholders.This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a safe work environment in the building, construction, and maintenance industry. You will provide expert advice on WHS and environmental issues, reporting to the Principal WHS Advisor, Far North Queensland.Key Responsibilities:Conduct WHS&E site audits and inspections to ensure compliance for both in-house and contractor-delivered work.Provide WHS&E guidance to operational, supervisory, and management staff regarding safety management processes and legislative compliance.Develop and deliver informational sessions for staff, ensuring understanding of relevant WHS&E practices and policies.Assist with the investigation and reporting of WHS&E incidents, including contractor notifiable incidents.Support worker rehabilitation and return-to-work programs under guidance.Coordinate emergency planning and response activities.Assist in the development, review, and implementation of SWMSs, risk assessments, and WHS management plans.Contribute to regular WHS&E reporting and assist in the delivery of health and safety programs responsive to stakeholder needs.About YouCertificate IV in WHS with experience in the construction, maintenance, or similar industry.This is not a FIFO role. Candidates must live in or near Cairns.Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, and Australian/International Standards.Ability to identify industry-specific hazards, risks, and control measures.Proven ability to interpret and apply WHS legislation and provide clear guidance to stakeholders.Strong communication skills, with the capacity to liaise effectively through structured written and oral communication.Relationship-building skills to engage positively with employees, managers, and various stakeholders.If you are a proactive and dedicated professional with a commitment to safety and environmental management, we encourage you to apply.
