About The Role
Public Sector People are partnering with a state government department to recruit an AO5 Senior Business Support Officer. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in leading and coordinating staff travel planning, operational process management, and governance assurance within the division. Your efforts will ensure compliance with whole-of-government directives, departmental policies, and procedures.
This role requires a strong ability to manage, streamline, and improve travel-related processes while providing exceptional support to the business.Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage staff travel planning and governance assurance processes, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, whole-of-government directives, and departmental policies.Execute travel bookings and process travel claims, with the ability to manage overflow and peak processing as needed.Develop, implement, and review systems and processes to achieve best practice standards for staff travel and other business support functions, including exploring new travel system options.Liaise with internal stakeholders to evaluate and improve business process performance.Provide clear and concise briefs, communications, and guidance related to staff travel and other business support functions.Deliver timely and accurate reporting for monitoring and managing costs and other business support activities.Work independently, using initiative to resolve issues and contribute to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.Successful Candidate Criteria
Experience in ensuring travel directive and policy compliance, particularly within Queensland Government, is highly desired. However, substantial comparable experience will also be considered.Knowledge of or experience with travel and expense management systems (e.g., CTM/Serko, ExpenseMePro, Fraedom, or similar) is advantageous.A well-rounded background in operational and business support will be viewed favourably.The ability to start within 1 to 2 weeks of the interview is critical and mandatory.This role is a temporary engagement until 20 December 2024, with the potential for further extension.To apply please press apply now.Seniority level
