Our valued State Government client requires an experienced Communications Officer to join their team in the beautiful Sunny Coast.

As an AO4 Communications Officer, your core role will be researching and drafting responses to ministerial and executive correspondence. The successful candidate will be required to advise on, develop, implement, and provide communications services.

Reporting to the Senior Communications Advisor, your accountabilities include: Assist the Stakeholder Management Business Unit to provide well-considered, accurate and timely communications advice and correspondence support to regional staff using appropriate communication tools.Coordinate, research, draft and edit communications material including responses to ministerial and executive correspondence, briefing notes, media statements, responses to media enquiries, speech notes, parliamentary business, online engagement, newsletters and other non-project related material for the Minister's office and senior management.Undertake community engagement and stakeholder consultation activities during project development and delivery, as required.Coordinate and update the content of regional webpages to ensure relevance to projects and initiatives, as required.Provide training, advice and support to regional staff and consultants to ensure consistency, enhance communication skills and improve relationships with key stakeholders and the community in the delivery of non-project initiatives, as required.To be successful in this role, you will have:Previous experience in the same capacityProven high level verbal and communication skillsExceptional skills in stakeholder/customer management and in building and maintaining relationships is critical in this roleWhile qualifications are not mandatory, a degree in communications, public relations, journalism or marketing would be highly desirable.This role offers an hourly rate of up to $63.69 + Super per hour, an anticipated start date of mid-November until end of October 2025, with a possibility of an extension.
