Job Description:Full time fixed term opportunity until April 2025Excellent benefits including salary packagingFitzroy locationAbout the Role DePaul House (DPH) provides ongoing specialist treatment and support to meet the identified needs of clients who have significant substance use issues and related comorbidities and require a withdrawal service. This is a state-wide service. DPH practices a recovery-oriented approach using the Strengths Model of Recovery-Oriented Practice. The position will actively contribute to the development and implementation of this model through day-to-day care and other activities.
Coordinate and manage the shift to ensure the provision of high quality consumer-focused careMonitor physical withdrawal and respond with protocol medicationProvide leadership, act as a role model to staff, and coordinate the allocation of resources on the shift to meet the needs of consumersWork within the Strengths Model of Recovery-Oriented PracticeConduct comprehensive assessments, including biopsychosocial assessments, and formulate and implement treatment plans; support intakeDeliver and coordinate group-based programs and activities within the unitDevelop responsive and accessible services and continuity of care through effective links and liaison with other relevant servicesThere will be a requirement to work a night shift roster.Classifications for this position will range from YY1 - YY2 ($107,962 per annum)

The unit provides medically managed detoxification from a variety of substances including THC, alcohol, methamphetamine, etc. Clients can stay up to 10 days. DePaul House is part of St Vincent's Department of Addiction Medicine. The Department of Addiction Medicine (DoAM), St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne strives to be a key centre for the community in relation to alcohol and drugs - strong and relevant in response, working in a number of domains including clinical practice, research that is directly translatable, education and training (at undergraduate, postgraduate and community levels) and advocacy and policy at both institutional level and more broadly.
