Animal Management Officer

We're seeking an assertive and resourceful Animal Management Officer to join our team.
As Council's front-line Animal Management Officer, you'll handle investigations and manage a range of animal-related situations and cases, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Your role will involve balancing public education with enforcement, all while helping to maintain community safety and minimising problems associated with animals.

The successful applicant will have:
Proven ability to communicate with integrity, establish rapport, negotiate effectively, and resolve conflicts across a broad spectrum of personality types.
Excellent understanding of Urban Local Government Animal Management practices, with strong knowledge of animal behaviour and handling techniques.
Demonstrated success in building and sustaining positive workplace relationships while meeting role expectations and actively contributing to team morale.
Outstanding communication and time management abilities, enabling efficient deadline adherence in high-pressure situations whilst meeting customer expectations.
Strong ability to interpret and apply legislation effectively in business decisions, investigations, and interview processes.
Demonstrated proficiency in document preparation, software use, and database management, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy in all documentation tasks.
Position Hours: Full-time, 75 hour fortnight.

Salary range: $64,086.81 to $70,682.60 plus superannuation.
