We are seeking a Facility Supervisor for a permanent, part-time (56 hours fortnightly) at our Education First Youth Foyer site based in Devonport.
This role works 7 days on and 7 days off, 56 hours a fortnight. This is a 'live in' position, which includes sleepovers.
This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the community and support young Tasmanians in need.
What you will be doing in this role: Undertake tenancy and maintenance functions at our Education First Youth Foyer site;Maintain grounds and gardens as well as undertake minor maintenance, cleaning of communal areas, offices and vacated units;Provide information and with the Manager - Youth2Independence, conduct initial assessments for new applicants requesting accommodation as the site as well as preparing leases;Support students using coaching techniques and Advantaged Thinking practices;Work with the Manager - Youth2Independence to ensure smooth facility operations;Complete unit inspections;Undertake administrative tasks.What we can offer you: $38.90 hourly (plus casual leave loading);A dynamic, fast-paced environment;Opportunities for personal and professional growth;Collaborative team culture.You must have: Knowledge on the Housing Connect system including youth people's pathways;Understanding of issues related to homelessness;Awareness of the current Tasmanian housing market and challenges faced by low-income individuals;Strong understanding of relevant legislation including the Residential Tenancy Act 1997 and occupational health and safety requirements or willingness to develop;A passion for working with young people;Strong written and oral communication skills.The successful applicant will be required to:
provide a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment/volunteer category) including NDIS Worker Screening Check;present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people type National Police Check (no older than 12 months);provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16;provide a satisfactory Anglicare assessed medical;provide a current provisional or full Australian Driver Licence.On commencement the successful applicant will be required to undertake our structured Safeguarding Children Training program.
