Your new role: We have an opportunity for an individual to join our Operational Intelligence unit (OIU) as an Analyst on a full-time, fixed term basis to 23 January 2026. The successful candidate will commence from mid-January 2025. Reporting to the Manager - Operational Intelligence, the role provides intelligence support to the OIU, investigative teams, and leaders to produce informed analysis and insights to facilitate timely operational decision-making.
Duties include: Proactively maintain a high-level awareness of corruption and misconduct issues within IBAC's jurisdiction to identify priorities including targeting opportunities and areas of vulnerability.Triage incoming reports, referrals, and other notifications in a timely fashion.Assess the relevance, credibility, and strength of information to recommend avenues for further investigation into identified persons and organisations of interest, as appropriate.Deliver intelligence reports and verbal briefings to support tactical, operational, and strategic objectives.Provide ongoing support to colleagues in the collection, collation, and analysis of information.Under guidance, liaise with colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate sharing of information.Initiate and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure products and services are timely, accurate, relevant, and actionable.Manage information collection and handling in accordance with the relevant legislation, policy, and standards.Effectively use intelligence and corporate IT systems (including databases and analytical software), ensuring that all relevant intelligence is appropriately recorded.Experience and capabilities: Possess contemporary knowledge or awareness of the collection, collation, analysis and controlled dissemination of information.Demonstrated high level written and verbal skills.Formal qualifications in intelligence or a related discipline and/or experience in a tactical and operational intelligence and/or investigative environment is highly desirable.Due to the requirement to attain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance, candidates must be an Australian citizen at the time of application.
