Analyst Fixed Equipment (FE)
Support the FE Global team by managing all analytical requirements (internal and external) that the team requires in order to deliver sustainable value to Rio Tinto
Manage team reporting requirements

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Analyst to undertake detailed internal category and project spend analysis and external global market/cost analysis for our Fixed Equipment (FE) category within Rio Tinto Procurement. This role requires someone who has a meticulous eye for detail to extract/collate data from various sources, consolidate the datasets and then analyse and interpret the data to present meaningful information and insight (i.e. trends, patterns or gaps) for the FE team and business to review.
This role is a great opportunity for someone who has strong analytical skills and who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and as part of a focused team.
Reporting to the Principal Advisor you will:
Have the ability to process a large volume of data in an efficient and effective manner
Be experienced with creating and publishing a variety of reports/dashboards and the ability to suggest ways to improve data capture, interpretation and presentation format
Extract, analyse and interpret spend data (from SAP and other system sources) and proactively communicate what the data conveys
Populate and regularly update cost saving systems with team category initiatives
Capture, consolidate and report on the external market dynamics for multiple categories
Assist with the tracking of forecasted cost savings versus business unit actuals
Support the Specialists and Manager with tender analysis and potentially the building of Excel based cost models
Ensure that the team follows the required governance and compliance relating to key Procurement documentation storage and file structure – satisfying audit requirements
Undertake detailed fact-base analysis as part of global category strategy development in order to fully understand the category profile
Undertake regular reporting on cost savings, spend forecasts, supplier spend, business unit spend, bespoke analysis and other performance indicators as requested
Maintain a positive, constructive and collaborative working relationship with the team, business and vendors
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
Strong Microsoft Excel skills; pivot tables, V-look up, cost model building and formulas
Strong experience in Power BI
Strong problem solving skills with the ability to untangle complex issues through quantitative thinking and analysis
Ability to communicate professionally and succinctly (verbally and written)
Strong PowerPoint skills to enable clear and impactful presentation of the data facts to support effective decision making
Strong SAP navigation and data capture skills
An ability to work unsupervised and be a self-starter
It will also be beneficial if you have a degree in Business or Commerce, with relevant analytical work experience.
