Position Summary The Real Estate team is an active global investor across multiple sectors and multiple strategies in support of CPP Investments mandate to maximize returns without undue risk of loss. This flexibility in investment approach allows the investment departments to seek out the best investment ideas and the best risk-adjusted returns in the market.
Reporting to the Managing Director & Head of Real Estate Asia Pacific, the Analyst/Associate is accountable for assisting the Real Estate team in the identification, selection, evaluation, and ongoing management of relationships and real estate investments across the Asia Pacific region.
Role-specific Accountabilities: Under the general direction of the Managing Director, you will become an integral member of the investment team, building a solid foundation as a professional multi-sector and multi-strategy investor.Alongside a multicultural and experienced team, you will build a thorough understanding of the investment process, commercial decision-making and partner selection.Using a variety of quantitative and qualitative analytical tools, you will assist in the underwriting process of various real estate investments and partnerships (including joint ventures, club deals and funds), as well as tax and financial structuring.Working with our partners and stakeholders, you will actively participate in the monitoring and management of the investment portfolio and joint ventures to ensure delivery of business plans and execution strategies.Engaging with market participants, you will conduct market research and compile data and financial information to contribute to forward-looking strategic decisions.Undertaking other relevant duties and projects as assigned.You will be expected to consistently exhibit our Guiding Principles of Integrity, Partnership and High Performance.Minimum Requirements: University degree or equivalent – in Finance, Real Estate, or a related discipline.CPA, CFA or CFA Candidate would be an advantage.Up to five years work experience in real estate, finance, private equity, investment banking, corporate strategy, strategic consulting or other relevant experience.Prior Real Estate work experience in Asia Pacific markets, in particular, Japan and Korea. Strong interest and aptitude in technology and related fields.Strong quantitative, financial and analytical skills (DCF and financial modelling).Fluency in English and Korean or Japanese, both written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Solid understanding of MS Office, Excel, Power Point; Prefer familiarity with Argus financial software.Flexibility, adaptability and initiative, and willingness to travel.Team player who enjoys a high performing culture.Professionalism and integrity.Desire to learn and express opinions.At CPP Investments, we are committed to diversity and equitable access to employment opportunities based on ability.
