What you will do as an Analyst Research and analyse competition and policy issues in relevant markets.
Research and interpret relevant legislation and policy frameworks.
Analyse data sets of pricing, cost, and other information, including through the use of data analytics programs.
Gather data and information using a range of techniques, including preparing and using statutory s95ZK notices, and exercising judgement to identify the best sources of such information.
Draft documents, including public report chapters, correspondence, and briefings.
Prepare analysis, reports, briefs, and recommendations for consideration by senior management and Commissioners.
Liaise with industry, government agencies, and consumer representatives.
Brief and work with economic, industry expert and legal advisers.

About You In order to succeed in the role, you will have: Experience with, or an ability to quickly develop an understanding of, the essential services and infrastructure markets that are examined by the Division, and how they work.
Experience with, or an understanding of, economic regulation, policy or compliance activities, or the ability to quickly develop an understanding of those activities.
Demonstrated quantitative and/or qualitative analytical skills, including the analysis of complex datasets containing commercially sensitive information (experience with data analytics tools would be well regarded), or the ability to quickly develop those skills.
Clear written and oral communication skills, with an ability to convey complex and technical material accurately.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Tertiary qualifications in law, economics, commerce, finance, mathematics, or similar fields are desirable but not essential.
