This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time and Casual appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency for Fixed Term appointments.
King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) is a tertiary maternity and gynaecological hospital. It provided care for its first patients in 1916 and delivers more than 6000 babies every year. KEMH is WA's only major referral centre for high-risk pregnancies and has a state-of-the-art Special Care Nursery, designed to care for premature and sick infants. KEMH also cares for more than 5000 women with gynaecological conditions each year - from urological and cancer-related problems to sexually transmitted diseases and reproductive disorders.
About this role This position provides assistance to the Anaesthetist for patients receiving anaesthesia for elective and emergency procedures. Assists the anaesthetist as part of the resuscitation team in clinical areas outside the peri-operative setting. Responsible for the checking and maintenance of appropriate equipment.
This role reports to the Chief Anaesthetic Technician.

Examples detailing how you demonstrate the five (5) values (Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork and Integrity) in your current and recent clinical practice as an Anaesthetic Technician (up to 1000 words). A comprehensive CV clearly summarising your roles, responsibilities and achievements relevant to this position. The names and contact details of two (2) professional referees (one of your referees should be a current or recent supervisor or manager). Evidence of successful completion of the nationally recognised qualification, Diploma of Anaesthetic Technology and Practice or equivalent. To be successful, applicants will need to provide evidence of their qualification, demonstrate recent experience as an Anaesthetic Technician and complete a Values Based Assessment (VBA).
Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector. To be eligible for a fixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract.
Other Conditions: This is an "open-ended" recruitment pool, and as such the following should be noted: The panel will monitor this recruitment pool for applications and will assess on a regular basis. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 27/02/2026. Progression: Staff in tertiary sites may be eligible to progress to G5 on meeting certain competency and other requirements under an approved competency progression scheme.
