About the role
The AML Specialist role is responsible for overseeing PNL's AML /CTF framework and providing critical quality assurance to the AML Team. This role is responsible for enhancing, monitoring, and executing the framework, to lead efforts to identify, prevent and mitigate AML/CTF risks, while meeting legislative requirements.
Responsibilities include AML/CTF Framework Contribute to the strategic direction of and execute the ongoing refinement of PNL's AML/CTF monitoring frameworks, commensurate with the changing regulatory environment, regulator and member expectations, and in line with the Group's risk profile.Provide analytics and thought leadership to the Manager - AML Operations and Customer Advocacy to maintain the appropriateness of the Transaction Monitoring Program System (TMP) and reduce false positives.Conduct periodic reviews of and make appropriate recommendations to refine the TMP and rules, in line with the current and/or changes to the Group's ML/TF profile and risk appetite, emerging industry trends and/or AUSTRAC typologies, intelligence and guidance.Review and provide input and recommendations in relation to the AML/CTF Program, and ML/TF risk assessments.Maintain and enhance AML Operations processes, procedures, guidance and training, in line with the AML/CTF Program.Deliver AML training to the AML Operations team to share AML operations insights, key internal and external trends and where deemed appropriate, to frontline staff.AML/CTF Monitoring Conduct ongoing monitoring of AML Operations processes including (but not limited to), TMP reviews, TTRs, SMRs, ECDD, PEP and high-risk customer reviews (behavioural and High-Risk Jurisdiction exposure) and provide assurance to the Manager - AML Operations and Customer Advocacy, and AML/CTF Compliance Officer.Provide key insights and trends in the operation of the Framework, and appropriate proactive and reactive responses, as necessary.Conduct control testing for the AML Operations function.Prepare, and contribute to AML Operations reporting for board risk committee, and operational risk management committee etc. by providing visual appealing, digestible, succinct narrative and insights.What you will bring Qualified within one or more of the disciplines of Fraud, AML/CTF, Compliance or operational or regulatory risk.Proven contemporary AML/CTF experience and understanding / operating within AML/CTF law, preferably within the banking industry.Ability to engage stakeholders within business to positively impact customer outcomes.Highly developed negotiation, influential and relationship management skills.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and informed decision-making capability.Proven leadership and influencing skills.Well developed, written and oral communication, and negotiation skills.Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills.Highly developed mentoring and coaching skills and ability to foster teamwork.Advanced risk maturity, including but not limited to operational risk management frameworks, regulatory compliance and procedures, brand reputation.Deep understanding of relevant legislation, AML/CTF Financing Act and Rules, and other banking relevant laws, regulations and industry codes.What we can offer you
