Our client is a well-established and market leading civil contractor, they are looking for an experienced and dedicated Divisional Manager / Construction Manager to join their growing business, based in the Hunter region. Having mining experience working for a civil contractor will be important.
Our client provides their services across a number of industry sectors such as building construction, industrial, mining and resources, oil and gas, transport infrastructure, environmental etc. and you will be responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of a number of challenging projects.
Types of projects include demolition, excavation, retention, piling, foundations, ground improvement, soft and hard landscaping, site remediation and rehabilitation etc.
Typical values range from smaller to $100m+ and will be managing and mentoring a team of Project Managers and Engineers that are delivering the projects.
The role will involve business development in the mining sector as well as overall management of operations over multiple concurrent projects, monitoring forecasts, budgets, commercials, contractual issues etc.
Years of experience: 7 - 15 years +
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Working on tenders and business development Planning and scheduling of construction activities Management of site project teams Quality Assurance, Cost and Time Management Preparation of management reports Resolving site issues in a timely manner Liaising with key clients and stakeholders Coordinating internal and external resources Recruitment and mentoring of teams Qualifications and Requirements: Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar 7 – 15+ years' management experience on mining / civil construction projects Project management qualifications will be advantageous Proven understanding of construction with a hands-on approach Proven ability to effectively lead and delegate Effective problem-solving abilities Ability to resolve conflict and manage client expectations High level of organisation and time management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills If you have the skills and experience that we are looking for, click on "Apply" to submit your resume.
