The American Hotel Echuca (AHE) is one of Victoria's most prestigious venues. We're now seeking an experienced, passionate and motivated Kitchen Manager to lead and grow the venue's operations. The American Hotel caters to a wide demographic with 42 gaming machines, large function & event spaces, high-quality food and booze, fast-paced nightlife and much more! The American Hotel is also a large employer within the Echuca / Moama region and has retained a strong team for many years now!

What you will be doing: As the Kitchen Manager of our venue, you will oversee all food operations, ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen. Reporting directly to the Venue Manager, you will lead your team to deliver an exceptional country pub dining experience for our customers – a mix of locals and tourists passing through.
Your number one priority is to train, lead and develop your crew to deliver consistent food quality, regardless of whether you are on shift or not!
How you'll make an impact: Controlling: Knowing the numbers is crucial – you'll need to know what to do if labour or COG's blowout – it's more than cutting the roster and wasting less.
Engaging: We don't want an old school chef who bullies people. We want someone who can build positive relationships and maintain them - especially when under the pressure of a busy service period.
This is a big role, and the right person will need to demonstrate: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills—our leaders work with the team, not above them, and lead by example, especially when the pressures on. Genuine passion for hospitality and people - we love what we do, and we want to work with people who do too. Knowledge or experience with the fundamentals - food safety, health regulations and cost control systems. What's in it for you?
