The role of the Communications Officer is to assist with the development and delivery of a broad range of strategic communications activities to promote the QAS, its organisational priorities, the achievements of its staff and volunteers, and the progress of relevant projects.

Job duration: 3 months with the possibility of extension
We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:
A sound knowledge of contemporary media and communications principles and practices with the proven ability to liaise effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated analytical and practical writing skills, with the proven ability to contribute to the development of communications strategies across a range of media, including online platforms. Well-developed oral and written communication skills with the proven ability to meet frequent, tight deadlines in the production of accurate and high-quality communications plans, proactive stories, internal publications and online content. Demonstrated understanding of the concepts, principles and techniques required for the successful coordination of a promotional program. Well-developed interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work and collaborate effectively within a cohesive, multi-disciplinary team to meet organisational demands, as well as the ability to work independently if required.
