This is a unique opportunity for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel level Family Lawyer who wants to step up their career progression and assume responsibility for running a Family Law practice.
This is a full-service national law firm in the CBD with offices throughout Mel, Syd, Bris and Perth. They have 10+ Family Lawyers in Melbourne who focus on more complex financial and property settlements (typically with asset pools >$5m).
There is a strong base of HNW clients in Brisbane, and the Melbourne team is currently servicing all the Family Law files. We are looking for a specialist Family Lawyer to come on board and take over the existing files and client base, and to drive the progression of the practice.
You will be supported in this role from several angles: the National Head of Family Law was recently a Finalist in the Partner of the Year Awards – she is a strong leader and will provide a great level of mentoring for your development in 'practice management' aspects of managing clients, delegating work, building relationships etc. The Managing Partner for QLD is incredibly well-networked in Brisbane and has a large pool of referrers to introduce you to. There is an experienced admin team to help you get through the grunt work on files, and the Family Law team in Melbourne will be there to lean on with overflow work and to collaborate with on matters.
