This includes providing a point of contact and communication, advice and support for multi-disciplinary Allied Health staff and engaging with nursing and medical teams on behalf of Allied Health in a leadership capacity.Respecting diversity is the foundation of everything that the Department of Health does. We strongly encourage applicants from key communities including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, LGBTIQA+ people, and people living with disabilities.The Role:Liaise closely with Heads of Department in Allied HealthProvide management oversight and coordination of allied health paediatric inpatient and outpatient services across Hospitals NorthProvide leadership for the allied health team members working in paediatricsRepresent Allied Health North for delegated meetings and projectsLead and support multidisciplinary Quality Improvement and Research activitiesSuccessful applicants will demonstrate:Flexibility to spread work pattern over 4 daysExcellent leadership and communication skillsAbility to adapt to a quickly changing environmentThe Team:The Allied Health Paediatric team is a large and dynamic team of allied health professionals consisting of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, speech pathologists, psychologists, and social workers. Services are delivered to both paediatric inpatient and outpatient areas. The team is collocated on site with the Paediatric Outpatient Service and operates in the Luthea Tower at the Launceston General Hospital.As an integral member of our Paediatric multi-disciplinary team, you will play a leading role in safeguarding children and adolescents through delivering contemporary, evidence-informed practice and high-quality patient experiences. You will be looked upon as a clinical mentor and leader by others.Our allied health, nursing, and medical paediatric services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.Details of appointment:Fixed term part-time, day worker position, working up to 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing from 24 November 2024 until 30 May 2025.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.Salary:$120,114 to $130,181 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.Please note that access to salaries beyond $126,845 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade schemeIn addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annumBenefits available to eligible candidates:Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees.Professional development and accelerated pathways.Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.Eligibility:Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.Satisfactory completion of an appropriate allied health course of study at a recognised tertiary institution, and registered with the relevant Board or, in the case of unregulated professions, eligible for membership of the relevant professional association.Current Working with Children Registration.*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment.
