Employment: Permanent, Full TimeLocation: Sydney Olympic ParkClose Date: Sunday, 4 April 2021Role Purpose:The Practice Leader plays a key role in ensuring that staff across Lifestart programs are engaged in a range of professional supports and experiences to extend their practice-based skills and competence within their role.
The Practice Leader will work closely with the Manager, Learning and Development, Managers and the Practice Leadership team to develop and implement innovative approaches to practice-based supports and resources.Key Selection Criteria:Qualifications and ExperienceDegree qualification in relevant allied health field.Minimum of five years' experience in discipline specific direct service provision with children and young people.Discipline specific skills and or certifications.Current Registration and/or eligibility for membership, with relevant professional body.Participation in relevant professional networks.Demonstrated team leadership and/or management experience.Demonstrated supervision experience and skills.Critical KnowledgeDemonstrated clinical leadership skills.Knowledge and skills in working with children, young people and families, with a specific focus on early childhood interventions and school age years services for children or young people living with disability, with or at risk of developmental and global developmental delays.Knowledge and skills in frameworks which inform work with children and young people with disability, including key worker approaches, trauma-informed practice, transdisciplinary/multidisciplinary collaboration, evidence-based.Well-developed knowledge of person-centred approaches within family centred practice.Skills in the provision of services and innovations that reflect evidence-based, best practice.Knowledge and skills in working flexibly in response to families' individualised needs and priorities.Knowledge and skills in working sensitively and empathically with families from diverse cultural backgrounds and complex needs.Knowledge and skills in clinical supervision and mentoring.Experience developing and or delivering professional development and training.Experience developing specific learning materials and content across mediums e.g., printed factsheets, guides, online training, video etc.Knowledge of relevant standards and legislation.Essential CompetenciesRelationship management skills.Interpersonal communication skills.Ability to think creatively and critically.Analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong work ethic and sense of teamwork.Internal/external customer service skills.Strong oral and written communication skills.Organisational, time management and planning skills.IT skills - Database management, Client Record Management systems, Office 365 programs, MS Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
