The Community Health and Therapy Services at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for an Allied Health Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis.Your opportunityTo work as a member of a trans-disciplinary team, delivering clinical services to consumers of Community Health and Therapy Services (CHATS) within the Mackay Hospital and Health Services, covering a range of clinical conditions, complexity and age groups.To operate within a delegation model of care by participating in supervision and training in the use of delegated clinical tasks.
The position reports operationally to the CHATS Team Leader.
The team provide clinical care in person, via tele-health and outreach throughout the Mackay Hospital and Health Service.
In certain circumstances overnight accommodation may be necessary.To contribute to consumer care by providing clinical support tasks delegated under the direct or indirect supervision of an Allied Health Professional (Dietitian, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Psychologist, Social Worker and Speech Pathologist).About the TeamCommunity Health and Therapy Services (CHATS) plays a vital role in the continuum of care for consumers and their carers at discharge from acute care through to re-establishment in the consumers' residence, or when necessary, transitioning to residential care settings.
