The Allied Health Assistant (AHA) will be responsible for clinical support and administrative assistance to Complex Care Services and ALERT. Working under supervision, the AHA will provide intervention in the clients own home environment, within the hospital setting and/or in the community. The AHA will predominantly work with Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy to assist them to support client care plans. The AHA will provide delegated individual client sessions, assist with joint client sessions, undertake administrative and supportive tasks.
The AHA will work under direction and supervision of allied health professionals to support the delivery of high quality care for clients with chronic diseases and complex care needs.The role involves direct and indirect clinical care, maintaining an active caseload and supporting clients to develop self-management skills in relation to their health and wellbeing and progressing the plan of care.Under direction of a clinician, undertake sourcing of client aids and equipment. Provision of aids and equipment and review of client satisfaction with aids and equipment.The AHA will play an important role in the non-clinical aspects to client care and service delivery. This includes administrative tasks and utilising IT systems to ensure the daily operations of CCS and ALERT.
Classifications for this position will range from classification range IN30 ($ 64,464 per annum pro rata).

This position is part of the Health Independence Program (HIP) and the Healthcare for the Homeless Directorates. The intent of these directorates is to deliver improved outcomes for clients and to support hospital demand management and flow, through delivering integrated and coordinated care to clients across the hospital and community interface, reducing duplication and fragmentation of services and ensuring client centred care planning.
