Please note this represents pay parity with Queensland Health.What you'll be doingThe purpose of the role is to deliver competent and professional assistance to clients, families, clinicians and care providers.
Key tasks will include:Assisting with completing an individual program with clients in their home.Assisting with group classes at a community-based centre.Liaising with the treating therapist to ensure an understanding of program requirements and handing over the outcomes of visits.Review of equipment prescribed to the client, ensuring it is working correctly and the client can use it safely.Assistance in delivery of services across the multidisciplinary allied health team.
This will mainly focus on Physiotherapy however may include Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Speech Pathology and Social Work.About youA certificate IV in Allied Health AssistancePossession of a valid open driver's licenceCurrent, or ability to obtain, NDIS Worker Screening Check (yellow card)Demonstrated experience working within a community, aged care and/or disability environment for one year.Advanced communication skills, including the ability to communicate with clients, carers and service providers.Ability to actively participate in a team.Highly competent organisation and time management skills, and ability to respond to competing demands.Mater is Queensland's largest and most innovative not-for-profit healthcare service, providing care for almost 700,000 patients a year across a network of 11 hospitals.We are a leader in healthcare, education and research — and that's because we employ exceptional people.
