Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class 'ETCS' signalling system.

About the Role The Alliances Project Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Rail, Integration, and Systems (RIS) and European Train Control Systems (ETCS) programs within the Cross River Rail Project. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating project and change controls and risk, issues and change management activities to ensure project objectives are met within the comprehensive governance frameworks and processes.
Working closely with the Delivery Authority's project teams and key stakeholders from the Sequence and Unity Alliances building strong working relationships, you will facilitate the identification and escalation of risks and issues, ensuring their timely resolution. You will oversee the development and implementation of change management processes, manage schedule dependencies, and contribute to the project's overall risk mitigation efforts.
The role also involves preparing and coordinating governance documents, change requests, impact assessments, and regular reporting deliverables. As a key contributor to the success of the Cross River Rail Project, the Alliances Project Manager will provide ongoing support and recommendations to the Senior Project Manager and Alliances Project Director, helping drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes.
This opportunity is offered as a contract until December 2026 with possible extension.
Key Responsibilities: Support the Alliances team with implementation and monitoring of project controls, governance and change management.Oversee the preparation and coordination of Change Management deliverables, including impact assessments, change requests, and communication plans.Responsible for the development and prioritisation of the three-month plan for governance, risk and change management.Facilitate regular risk meetings with risk team leads and relevant stakeholders to identify and assess emerging issues and risks.Update risks, controls, and mitigation strategies within the Delivery Authority's Active Risk Manager (ARM) tool.Provide advice on solutions and mitigation measures for risks and issues.Support and participate in planning and other relevant activities to understand schedule dependencies and identify flow-on effects.Undertake project management activities for both Brownfields and ETCS programs, including time and cost and contributing to detailed project reviews.Support project reporting deliverables including presentations and governance papers.Act as a liaison between teams to coordinate risk management and project control efforts. About You: Advanced experience in leading and coordinating project controls, risk management, change controls, issue escalation and governance in a major project environment. Rail infrastructure experience will be highly regarded.Strong communication skills with ability to effectively and persuasively convey complex risk and governance information both verbally and in writing.Strong analytical skills and understanding of project lifecycles to enable effective risk and issues management.Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.Relevant Project Management or tertiary qualifications are desirable.
