Alice Springs Hospital Emergency Registrars And Srmos 2025

Details of the offer

Alice Springs Hospital is recruiting for Emergency Registrars and SRMOs for 2025, with 3-12 month contracts available (longer contracts available by negotiation).
We offer a unique experience in Aboriginal Health - practising high acuity medicine in a young population where 80% patients are Aboriginal.
You will see rheumatic heart disease, bronchiectasis, chronic liver disease, overwhelming sepsis, high rates of renal disease and diabetes as well as significant trauma.
We service an area of over 1 million km2 with around 50,000 presentations a year with a 42% admission rate, median age of 34 years and 22% paediatric presentations.
The ED has Tier 1 and Training stage 4 accreditation for non-major referral ACEM ED training, including your paediatric log book/ PER, and offers a supportive training environment.
FACEMs are on the floor from 0730 till 2400 7 days a week.
Our ED registrars can also access accredited rotations to Paediatrics, Anaesthetics, ICU, Tennant Creek (Rural and Remote Medicine + Core ED with blended supervision), Retrieval Medicine, as well as a new position in Aboriginal Health looking after our Aboriginal Frequent Attender team.
We provide quality protected registrar teaching for 4 hours a week (with separate retrieval service teaching), and are highly supportive of primary and fellowship exam candidates.
We actively support your WBAs and roster supervised 'in charge consultant' shifts, as well as providing quality assurance shifts skills development.
For your TS4 time we help facilitate all of your audit, guideline, M and M, and teaching presentation requirements.
We are happy to accept applications for 3+ months, including rotations from your home hospital.
You may be able to arrange this with your DEMT or Director, and we can help facilitate this.
We are also happy to accept applications from ACCRM registrars looking to undertake their EMC/ EMD/AST.
This is a great place to come for your non-major referral placement, to gain experience if you are thinking of doing voluntary service overseas, or if you are interested in broadening your experience of Emergency Medicine or Aboriginal health.
