Regional Airport Management Services (RAMS) is a fast-growing division of Multi Services Solutions Pty Ltd ("MSS-Group"), a privately owned company operating from offices in Australia and New Zealand.
RAMS provides airport management services to regional airport owners.
Our team has over 75 years' experience in airports.
About the role
As an Airport Screening Officer with RAMS, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and safety of aviation operations.
Customer service is a key part of this role; the ideal candidate will have experience in customer service roles.
You will provide instructions to passengers throughout the process to minimize confusion and ensure compliance.
You will assist passengers with special needs, provide information, and address any concerns.
This role is a 12-month fixed term contract FIFO from Perth to Learmonth Airport in Exmouth FIFO Roster 2-week on / one week off swing Flights, accommodation, laptop, phone, and transport provided Role and responsibilities:
Screening Customers: Passengers go through a series of checkpoints including metal detectors, (AIT) scanners, carry-on bags and personal items are screened, pat-downs, etc.
Security Protocols: Implementing and overseeing security measures at airports and other aviation facilities to protect against threats and unauthorized access.
Incident Response: Responding to security breaches, emergencies, and other incidents, coordinating with law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
Surveillance and Monitoring: Security personnel observe passenger behavior for signs of suspicious activity.
Liaison and Coordination: Collaborating with various stakeholders, including government agencies, airlines, and airport management, to ensure a cohesive approach to aviation security.
Skills and Experience
Minimum 1 year experience in an Airport Screening Officer position at either a regional or capital city airport.
Customer focus towards all terminal users, airport contractors, and tenants.
Maintain x-ray Threat Image Projection (TIP) screener statistics in excess of 75%.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
Effective problem-solving skills suitable for work in remote locations and a high-paced operational environment.
Strong communication (written, verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated and decisive with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements
Aviation/Airport screening experience.
AVI20118 Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (or similar) that meets the ATSR.
Current annual screener accreditation training under the CISC Screener Accreditation Scheme.
Have (or be able to hold) and maintain an ASIC.
Pre-Employment Checks
To be considered for this role you must have valid work rights in Australia, Australian citizen or visa with valid work rights in Australia.
