Local Government, Government - Local (Government & Defence)Full timeRef 1370Salary: $115,906 plus superannuation – housing negotiableKarratha Airport is seeking a motivated and experienced Airport Operations Team Leader to manage daily airport operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance across all airport activities. This is an exciting leadership role with a high level of responsibility, overseeing a team of Airport Reporting Officers (ARO) while supporting the Airport Operations and Assets Coordinator (AOAC) in both airside and landside operations.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership: Manage a dedicated team of AROs, providing guidance, training, and ensuring high performance in meeting regulatory standards.Operations Oversight: Coordinate airside areas, oversee ground support equipment, and ensure smooth operations in collaboration with external agencies.Compliance and Safety: Support the implementation of safety protocols, assist in maintaining aerodrome compliance with Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) standards, and lead safety investigations.Asset Management: Assist in planning and managing airside infrastructure maintenance and asset renewal projects, ensuring all systems and equipment are operational and up to code.Emergency and Security Management: Collaborate with emergency services and ensure compliance with airport security protocols and emergency procedures.Reporting & Coordination: Provide critical operational reports and liaise with key stakeholders, ensuring seamless airport operations.Skills & ExperienceA minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience in airport operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.Comprehensive knowledge of the Manual of Standards (MOS) Part 139, regulatory compliance, and workplace health and safety legislation.Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage teams and work autonomously.A valid C Class Driver's License, and the ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).Why Karratha Airport?Working with us at Karratha Airport provides the opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of one of Western Australia's key regional airports.
