Airfield Lighting Maintenance Manager

Lead a dynamic team to ensure the safety, compliance, and efficiency of Melbourne Airport's Airfield Lighting systems while driving innovation and performance. The Airfield Lighting Maintenance Manager will lead the Airfield Lighting Maintenance team, ensuring compliance with safety standards and the achievement of maintenance objectives. This role ensures that the team meets maintenance goals while adhering to current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs). The Manager will also collaborate closely with the Airfield Operations Technical Lead to ensure that any impacts on the airfield lighting system from the capital plan are effectively incorporated into the team's tasks and workload.

As a key leadership position, the role demands the management of a productive, professional, and highly engaged team, driving performance and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Key responsibilities: The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Team Leadership Manage day-to-day operations of the Airfield Lighting Maintenance team. Foster a just culture and promote team engagement. Lead regular team meetings to improve productivity and teamwork. Oversee rostering and prioritise tasks for safety and compliance. Safety & Compliance Aim for zero workplace incidents and ensure compliance with OH&S, SOPs, and CASA regulations. Investigate incidents and share learnings with the team. Conduct audits and review SOPs and training for continuous improvement. Technology & Efficiency Drive the use of technology for improved compliance, efficiency, and reporting. Optimise asset management systems and ensure effective data collection. Stakeholder Communication Maintain communication with internal stakeholders and external agencies. Coordinate urgent works and collaborate on asset management planning. Asset Management Maintain Airfield Lighting systems to safe, secure standards. Ensure timely completion of preventative and emergency maintenance. Manage stock levels and align practices with CASA regulations and airport standards. The successful candidate will have: Senior-level experience in airfield lighting (CCR series circuits) A-Grade Electrical Licence (Victorian) or Electrical Engineering Degree Excellent analytical skills Maintenance experience or civil construction desirable. Previous experience managing a team across multiple shifts. Working knowledge and detailed understanding CASA Manual of Standards Part 139 Proficient in the MS suite of programs Commercially astute Highly capable of developing and writing detailed reports to communicate to GM and Chief Level. Have the ability to hold a Level 4E Taxiway Airside Drivers Authority (ADA).
