Key Responsibilities Operate the rescue equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Conduct the pre-flight checks of SAR, sling load and winch equipment. Undertake line flying duties as an Aircrew Officer or Rescue Crew Officer. Provide information concerning aircraft safety. Maintain rescue equipment in a serviceable condition. Assist the aircraft Commander with navigation. Render first aid when necessary. Conduct flight, task and safety briefings. Qualifications, Skills & Attributes Essential: Maintain qualifications – Aircrew Officer (Dual Qualified - Rescue Crew Officer where applicable); CAO 29:11 Certificate of Competency in Winching and Rappelling Operations; Current Senior First Aid Certificate; Current CASA Class II Medical Certificate; Current Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Certificate (HLTAID015); TBOSIET/HUET Qualified; Current Dangerous Goods Awareness Certificate; Ability to hold/meet the ACO role endorsement/currency requirements; 500 hours Rotary wing Aircrew Officer experience; Minimum 12 months experience in a similar role; Ability to pass and maintain company fitness test. Bronze Medallion or Community Life Saving Certificate. Applicants must be an Australian citizen and be able to hold and maintain applicable clearances as required for the position. Full-Time touring opportunity Touring from Capital cities 15 days on / 13 days off touring roster Ability to tour throughout Australia and Timor Leste The role of anAircrew Officeris a technical role proficient in the techniques necessary to perform Search and Rescue, Emergency Medical, Passenger Transport and Winching Operations. The Aircrew Officer is responsible to the aircraft captain for the safe and efficient management of the aircraft's rear cabin during flying operations.
The role is performed in various onshore and offshore environments, where it shares the common objective to render assistance to personnel in emergency situations. At times you can be exposed to demanding and complex tasks, while working under stressful conditions. The likelihood of exposure to traumatic and challenging situations are real and need to be considered when entering this line of work.
Working in an environment to meet client needs, certain contracts may call for diverse requirements where Aircrew Officers are expected to safely and successfully cover all facets of the position regardless of the contract. In addition, you will be required to cover various work practices (rosters). Proficiency training is a core part of the role, as is physical fitness and resilience to work under pressure.
