ABOUT THE ROLE
The role will work with a small team of SME's that provide customised solutions for our clients' requirements. With a fantastic team culture, our Caloundra based Rotary Wing team provide excellent customer service and professional aircraft maintenance services. Combined with knowledge and experience from other teams within the Aerospace Division, the Helicopter Maintenance Team is well positioned to meet the needs of our clients. OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate for the Aircraft Surface Finisher position will maintain aircraft and aircraft furnishings. The Aircraft Surface Finisher is responsible for preparing the surfaces of aircrafts and aircraft components for the application of surface finishes, apply paint, specialist finishes and decals or stencils. The role will include:
Interpret and use aviation maintenance industry manuals and specifications. Ability to conduct self in the aviation maintenance environment. Plan and organise aviation maintenance work activities. Complete aviation maintenance industry documentation. Perform basic hand skills, standard trade practices and fundamentals in aviation maintenance. Prepare spray painting materials and equipment. Remove surface coatings from aircraft or aircraft components. Pre-treat aluminium alloy surfaces. Seal aircraft and aircraft component structural seams. Remove light corrosion from aircraft. Apply aircraft identification markings, graphics, and decals. Apply speciality coatings to aircraft. Apply quality standards during aviation maintenance activities. Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices. Ability to promote and abide by workplace health and safety practices with the workplace. QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS Essential Qualifications Ability to gain Maintenance/technical/trade qualifications in relevant area. The ability to hold and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance. Desirable Qualifications Strong organisation and management skills.
