The Opportunity Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team are seeking an experienced Aviation Maintenance (145 / MRO) Professional to support a world class rotary-wing platform as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical.
This role is based at RAAF Base Townsville in tropical North Queensland and supports the Apache Program.
Working side by side with our Australian Defence Force Customer, you will play a vital role in the maintenance of Boeing AH-64 Apache' mechanical, airframe and engine systems and associated equipment.
Technical training on the aircraft may require the successful applicant to travel overseas or domestically for periods of time to achieve Military Aircraft Type Rating for their MAML.
Responsibilities The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is responsible for the maintenance, modification, servicing, inspection, testing and troubleshooting of aircraft systems, associated components and associated equipment within the scope of their applicable: trade; qualifications; training; competency; and, Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) authorisation(s).
The AME completes assigned tasks by undertaking a variety of AMO aircraft maintenance activities, sign-off, and Certification of those aircraft maintenance activities in accordance with the appropriate Authorised Maintenance Data (AMD).
These maintenance activities require the application of trade qualifications and experience in the relevant trade category.
Additionally, the aircraft maintenance activities may require the application of post-trade qualifications and experience.
AME's conducting Certification are required to interpret Instruction for Continuing Airworthiness (ICA) airworthiness limitations from within AMD and apply them to the assessment of defects and imperfections.
The AME shall also supervise and provide mentorship to subordinate technicians in the development of their pathway to success.
Experience/Qualifications * Cert IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical).
* Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of DASR Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance Regulatory Framework and aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures * Hold a DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML) - Category B1.3 * Previous experience as a maintenance certifier / trade supervisor (E62 Exclusion removed) * A high level of verbal and written communication skills * Ability to successfully interact with co-workers, maintaining productive working relationships to meet team, business unit and organisational goals.
* Be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety procedures.
* Able to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance of NV1.
