Your role
As an Aircraft Structural Technician in the Air Force, you'll maintain, service and repair primary and secondary structures on some of the world's most advanced military aircraft, such as the P-8A Poseidon, C-17A Globemaster III or F-35A Lightning II. You'll work as part of a highly skilled team and be responsible for keeping the aircraft structure airworthy and ready to go.
Your duties may include:
Handling and replenishing aircraft flight lines Removing and installing aircraft components Manufacturing and repairing aircraft plumbing and ducting Conducting heat treatment and welding on aluminum and alloys Maintaining tools and machinery used on aircraft Preparing and using aircraft support equipment Identifying aircraft technical equipment and spares Preparing and packaging technical equipment for transport Amending and maintaining technical publications Performing tasks including the inspection, maintenance, servicing, assembly, removal, and installation of aircraft components including the wings, flight control surfaces, fuselage, and engine structure. Upon completion of initial military and employment training, you will enjoy a salary package starting from $80,549.
Location
Following training, you may be posted to one of the major Air Force bases around Australia, such as RAAF Base Amberley, Williamtown, or Edinburgh.
