The opportunity Airbus currently has a permanent full-time Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Avionics (AME Av) opportunity to join our maintenance team in sunny Darwin! As the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will work closely with an inclusive team of technical experts undertaking aviation maintenance activities to meet the needs of Airbus Australia Pacific (AAP) and their customers on the ARH Tiger. This position requires interaction with numerous stakeholders to identify scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements and plays an important role in maintaining customer satisfaction.
The position reports to Team Lead Aircraft Line Maintenance, through respective Aircraft Technical Leads, responsible for all ARH maintenance activities undertaken by the Darwin Maintenance teams. Darwin AME's are primarily responsible for performing ARH Maintenance activities while also conducting off-aircraft maintenance and supporting operational units in industry-specific tasks, such as advanced systems troubleshooting and rectification, and aircraft or component modifications.
You can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks will include:
Conduct maintenance in accordance with the relevant regulations. As part of a team, undertake aircraft maintenance activities within your Quality Authorisations as directed by your supervisor, to ensure delivery of aircraft to meet the specified delivery schedule. Ensure that all aircraft and aeronautical product maintenance activities are conducted effectively, efficiently, and performed, supervised, inspected and certified in compliance with either the Airbus Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) or 1 AVN MOE as applicable. Identify new opportunities for enhancement of maintenance services. The skills and experience suited to this role include:
Diploma Aeroskills (Avionics) or equivalent issued by a Registered Training Organisation. High-level aviation airworthiness regulatory knowledge and its applicability in the relevant environment. Understanding of relevant aircraft maintenance documentation and practices. Knowledge of and experience using Interactive Electronic Technical Publications. Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction. Knowledge of and experience using CAMM2 is an advantage. You must be eligible for an Australian Government Negative Vetting 1 Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy pre-employment medical screening which may include drug and alcohol testing.
