We are currently seeking new team members to join our kitchen brigade as a Qualified Chef/Cook at both the Gungahlin Lakes Golf and Community Club and the Ainslie Football and Social Club. We are looking for team members who are self-starters and thrive in the exciting and fast-paced kitchen environment to join our experienced and hard-working team on a casual basis, with further opportunities for part-time and full-time roles for the right person.
This remuneration for this role is as per the Registered and Licensed Clubs Award 2020.
Objectives Reporting to the Head Chef, the key objectives of the Qualified Chef/Cook position are to drive excellence in all aspects of food preparation and service, while contributing to the overall efficient operation of the kitchen. The successful candidates for the role will be working with a variety of internal stakeholders to ensure food quality and consistency throughout the venue, while meeting food safety and sanitation standards daily.
Key Responsibilities Food preparation in accordance with restaurant procedures and guidelines Food services duties during the operational hours of the restaurant and any required function catering Minimising wastage through conscious food preparation methods and goods security Ensuring efficient stock rotation to ensure food quality is maintained Enforcing safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen Adhere to WHS policy and procedures Any other duties as listed in the PD for the role, or as directed by Management Qualified Chef/Cook Position Requirements Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or other relevant qualification Minimum oftwo (2) years' experience in a kitchen role A team player, who can lead by example and contribute to the motivation of the team, encouraging a positive culture Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner Flexibility and availability to work around a varying roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays Someone with a passion for food trends who is constantly looking at opportunities for professional development Immaculate grooming and hygiene standards Additional Employee Benefits Employee assistance program Opportunities for career progression across a wide range of specialisations Training and development opportunities Supportive team environment Discounted food and coffee on rostered workdays Free parking Additional club benefits APPLICATIONS: If you feel you have the skill set to take on this role within one of Canberra's leading club groups, please submit your resume, stating relevant experience, on the Seek portal.
