About the RoleAs an Agronomist, you will represent Loam by servicing SecondCrop Carbon Projects within a designated region. SecondCrop Carbon projects target grain farming enterprises throughout Australia and are a partnership to build soil carbon using groundbreaking science and unique Loam products, which increases opportunities for Australian grain growers. The primary objective is to provide agronomic service to growers within Loam Carbon Projects, to assist them with improvements in soil carbon levels, and therefore improve plant production efficiencies.
This newly created role would see you as part of the commercial operations team, concentrating your activities and responsibilities towards expanding Loam's agronomic presence and reputation across the designated region. Reporting to Loam's National Technical Agronomy Manager, your core focus would be the service of existing and future SecondCrop growers, with specialist carbon agronomy suggestions and practices. This may include explanation and documentation about their GreenHouse Gas emissions. It may also include the writing of land management strategies, which form part of the carbon project registration process.
ResponsibilitiesProvide on-farm agronomic and technical support, in alignment with Loam's agronomic operations and service standards. This would include highlighting our products' agronomic benefits for soil health and function, to produce positive farmer outcomes.Work with the National Technical Agronomy Manager to support grower partners with new and existing specialist carbon agronomy support, and build strong working relationships with them, as required.Provide regional agronomic intel and findings to the National Technical Agronomy Manager, to aid in the development of Loam's products, services, and programs.Maintain a strong understanding of agronomic knowledge and particularly soil function and microbiology, to communicate the benefits of soil carbon and Loam's programs.Collaborate with the engagement team on field activities, including demonstrations, trials, field days, and farmer meetings, in alignment with Loam's operational strategy, as required.Provide a high level of record keeping, periodic reports, and data accuracy via a CRM.Fast-growing Australian company with many opportunities for capacity building and career development. Minimum QualificationsA comprehensive knowledge and strong track record of common practices in broadacre agronomy, and in-depth understanding of alternate agricultural systems, backed by practical experience.Proven experience in farmer extension, with the ability to translate scientific best practices to growers.Experience in commercial agribusiness is an advantage.A deep-rooted passion for sustainable agricultural practices, coupled with a thorough understanding of carbon sequestration techniques and their impact on the environment, is an advantage.Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across various levels, including public speaking.A proven ability to take initiative, coupled with robust problem-solving skills. Must be self-driven, capable of operating autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.Residency in a regional area, with a readiness for regular travel (up to 60%) to engage with grain farming communities within the designated operational region.A bachelor's degree in agricultural science or a related business field would be highly beneficial.Proficient in using CRM systems, demonstrating a strong grasp of technology and record keeping, to ensure customer service standards, is advantageous.Application InstructionsWhen applying, state you found this job on Pangian.com Remote Network.
