About Us: We are a mixed cropping, broadacre family-operated farm situated at Columboola. Our farm utilizes modern equipment to produce both winter and summer crops, with a primary focus on irrigated cotton. This position offers an exciting opportunity to use your knowledge in irrigation and sustainable agronomic practices.
Job Description: We are excited to announce an opportunity for a hands-on agronomist to provide advice on quality, production, and management of our broadacre and cotton crops. You will become a key part of our team, providing pivotal advice on techniques to improve the production of our crops for business growth.
Responsibilities:Evaluate growing conditions, environmental factors, and crop health.Collect and analyze factors influencing crop production.Provide recommendations to management on techniques to improve crop yields.Advise on issues such as crop diseases, pests, weed management, and soil enhancement.Investigate the impact of cultivation methods, soil conditions, pests, and plant diseases in crops.Oversee timely execution of farming operations, including planting, cultivating, irrigation, spraying, and harvesting.Organize, train, and supervise staff and contractors.Implement innovative farming techniques to optimize yields and improve crop quality.Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve production targets and financial goals.Design procedures to address agricultural challenges and enhance production efficiency.Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of farm machinery and infrastructure.Monitor compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.Maintain detailed and accurate operational records.Qualifications, Skills and Experience:At least 5 years working in the field on a farm.A degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Agronomic Engineering or equivalent.Proven experience in all aspects of modern farm equipment and machinery operation.Deep understanding of modern farming techniques and technologies.Strong leadership and decision-making skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Proficiency in precision farming software and equipment.Benefits:On-site accommodation.Salary $80,000 to 90,000 + Superannuation.Access to modern equipment and resources.How to Apply:Please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience to ******.
