About the role Locations - Eddington (40 mins from Bendigo & 1 hour from Ballarat) Onsite parking Start as soon as possible. We are looking for a Site Supervisor (2IC) to play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating warehouse operations, ensuring the seamless flow of materials and finished goods between the warehouse and the production floor. This role supports the Site Manager in managing the daily operations of the warehouse team, inventory control, ensuring a strong focus on operational efficiency, safety and collaboration with production departments. In the absence of the Site Manager, the 2IC will assume full responsibility for managing warehouse operations and maintaining efficiency across the site.
Key responsibilities of the position include: Warehouse Operations Management:
Supervise and assist with daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and despatch of goods. Ensure all warehouse tasks are completed accurately and efficiently within agreed timeframes and DIFOT KPI's are met. Maintain inventory accuracy by overseeing stock control processes, including regular stocktaking and cycle counts. Manage the safe and efficient storage of goods, optimising warehouse space and layout. Assist with warehouse pest control processes. Identify opportunities for process improvements and support their implementation. Supervise, train, and motivate the warehouse team, ensuring they adhere to operational procedures and safety processes. Provide guidance and support to warehouse team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Safety Compliance:
Promote a safety-first culture within the site, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety policies. Conduct regular safety inspections, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions where necessary. Ensure staff are trained in safe working practices and the proper use of equipment. Inventory Management:
Assist with maintaining accurate inventory records ensuring production sheets are completed accurately and recorded in the system in a timely manner. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and report any issues to the Site Manager. Coordinate with other departments (e.g., procurement team) to ensure timely and accurate stock levels. Allocating and booking truck runs. Liaising with truck drivers in relation to pick-ups and deliveries including booking freight where required. This includes booking of cross-dock freight. Ensure timely and accurate picking and despatch of orders, meeting customer requirements and deadlines. Liaising with production team where required to ensure orders are fulfilled in a timely manner. Strategic logistics planning where required. Assist in Site Manager's Responsibilities:
Stand in for the Site Manager during periods of absence, taking full responsibility for warehouse operations and decision-making in collaboration with Management. Collaborate with the Site Manager on long-term strategy, planning, and resource allocation. Key skills & experience needed for the role: Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team leader role Previous experience in manufacturing is beneficial, but not critical. Strong interpersonal skills Dependable Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy. Strong organisational and time management skills A proactive and hands-on approach to leadership Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines, Keen interest, willingness to grow and learn. Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards, with a demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
