About the Role As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant, you will provide personalised home care support to older Australians who reside on the Cassowary Coast, from suburbs Tully to Babinda.
This role assists clients in remaining independent in their homes.
Travel will be required, with distances of up to 50 minutes to support clients across the region.
This is a casual opportunity, with approximately 10 hours per week, building over time.
Hours will be between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, with no evening, weekend, or sleepover shifts.
Flexible hours can be tailored to suit school hours or other commitments if required.
Key Responsibilities Domestic assistance duties including light cleaning, changing of bed linen, and laundryIn-home supports inclusive of meal preparation and assistance with daily livingSocial supports to attend medical appointments, social activities, and build/maintain social networksPersonal care including showering, daily hygiene, and monitoring health and well-beingSkills & Experience Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or similar) or prior industry experience requiredPassionate about making a positive impact in our ageing communityAn Australian Driver's Licence and ownership of a registered vehicleStrong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationshipsA current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check.
