Position Overview:As an After-Hours Support Worker, you will be a key player in our mission to deliver high-quality residential care. You'll work in a supportive environment where every interaction counts, helping to empower young individuals to thrive.
What You'll Do:Provide Compassionate Care: Support young people with their emotional and behavioral needs during after-hours shifts.Collaborate with a Dedicated Team: Work closely with the After Hours Support Worker Coordinator and fellow team members to ensure a cohesive approach to care.Create Safe Spaces: Foster a nurturing environment that promotes positive behavior and emotional well-being.Who We're Looking For:Empathetic Individuals: Those who understand the challenges faced by vulnerable youth and are committed to making a difference.Team Players: Collaborative spirit with a strong ability to work within a team framework.Flexible Availability: Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Location:This role is based in the beautiful Newcastle Hunter region of NSW, offering a vibrant community and rich culture.
Minimum Qualifications:A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.Experience in youth services or residential care.Ability to relate to and work with young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.Ability to implement behaviour management plans for young people with challenging behaviours.Requirements:Valid and current Driver's License.Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop).Valid Employee Working with Children Check.Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed/client facing roles).
