About the role: This permanent position, based in Canberra, ACT, is part of MacKillop's National After-Hours Services Unit.
You will be at the heart of creating a safe and nurturing environment for young individuals, supporting their personal growth and well-being.
Full-time with penalties for applicable shiftsWork every 2nd weekend8 shifts per fortnight, each 9 to 10 hours longAlternating fortnightly rosters: One fortnight: 5 PM to 2 or 3 AM shifts / The next fortnight: 9 or 10 PM to 7 AM shiftsKey Responsibilities: As a Residential Care After Hours Support Worker, you'll guide young people to develop their independent living skills, protect their rights, and maintain connections with their significant people and places.
You'll also play a role in fostering their positive identity and involving them in decision-making processes.
Your 'Roving' responsibilities across Residential units offer a diverse and rewarding experience.
Key Selection Criteria: We are looking for someone with experience in youth services or residential care, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
You'll need to be comfortable working after hours and on weekends, with a strong commitment to MacKillop's mission and values.
