Exciting opportunity for an After-Hours Nurse Manager to join the Department of Health!

The Team: The Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) South at the Royal Hobart hospital is a coordination hub that ensures the right person receives the right care at the right time in the most appropriate setting.
The IOC has an integrated service that works together and provides excellence in health care to ensure a smooth patient journey across the care continuum.
The IOC Staffing and Support team is responsible for optimising daily nursing and specified ancillary staffing capacity across THS-South.

The Role: The After-Hours Nurse Manager (Clinical Manager/Patient Flow Manager):

Provides leadership, oversight, and management of the activities and resources of the THS South health service/facilities after-hours.
In hours, the PFM coordinates patient flow processes, including bed allocations, in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team, inclusive of interdisciplinary roles within the Integrated Operations Centre. Supports the efficient and effective provision of care, based on clinical standards and best practice principles, within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework to achieve best patient outcomes. You will need: Comprehensive knowledge of, and experience in, contemporary nursing management practice including clinical governance, clinical risk management, evidence-based practice, research, clinical standards, and ethics. Demonstrate capability to provide the health service/facility with a clear direction, inspire a positive attitude and a desire to succeed in staff members at all levels, and will persuade others and influence outcomes (internally and externally) for the health service/facility. Demonstrate capacity to establish and maintain relationships and useful partnerships with people at all levels and disciplines across the business unit and group. Details of appointment: Multiple permanent full-time or part-time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $130,203 to $136,295 per annum (Pro rata).
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type. Salary Packaging: You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Benefits available to eligible candidates: Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available. Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate. Professional development and accelerated pathways. A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support. Fitness Passport – You and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family. Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
