Seymour Health is a leading small rural health service. At our site in central Seymour, over 350 staff deliver health and allied services.
Our services include a 30-bed public hospital that provides public and private acute medical and surgical, renal dialysis and day procedures. Seymour Health's breadth of services extends to post-acute care, palliative care, sub-acute ambulatory service, oral health services, district nursing and community services. Barrabill House is a 40-bed residential aged care service that provides highly rated residential aged care.
Seymour Health is conveniently located an hour north of Melbourne via the M31 Hume Freeway and V/Line Seymour line railway.
About the position We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurse to fill the position of After-Hours Coordinator to oversee the operations of Seymour Health outside of normal business hours which includes emergency management response.
The role of the After-Hours Coordinator is to successfully oversee the operations of Seymour Health by:
Effectively managing nursing staff and other personnel to achieve safe, high quality service delivery across the organisation Clinical support as required in the Acute, Aged Care and Urgent Care settings Responding to, investigating and following up incident reports in a timely manner (clinical, OHS or other) Identifying mandatory reporting requirements as they arise (ensuring compliance with Aged Care, Occupational Health and Safety, Childsafe, and NDIS legislation) Managing clinical and non-clinical roster shortfalls across the organisation and ensuring compliance with the Safe Patient Care Act 2015. Managing emergency situations in a calm and efficient manner ensuring safety of all staff and consumers (acting as Chief Warden). Supporting an organisational culture that reflects Seymour Health's organisational values and behaviours. About you Along with a professional attitude and a commitment to help Seymour Health achieve its vision and values, the successful applicant will have:
Experience in negotiating and attempting to resolve any workplace conflict in a professional and sensitive manner. Demonstrated knowledge and commitment towards quality improvement activities and actively participate in departmental accreditation processes. Demonstrated experience undertaking policy review and revision. Current registration with AHPRA Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to supervise a team Demonstrated ability to provide advanced clinical support and mentorship to nursing team The ability to respond to and manage emergency situations Valid Police Check and Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain In return, Seymour Health offers: Salary Packaging Free on-site parking Employee Assistance Program Staff Social Club Applications will be reviewed upon receipt, so early applications are encouraged.
