About the service: The Launceston Head to Health model is tailored to the needs of the local community and offers a combination of peer-led recovery and clinical support to provide a warm, welcoming and high-quality experience including: immediate mental health support for people requiring short-term mental health and wellbeing support.
Stride have pioneered the integrated model since 2014 and we look forward to bringing our experience to Launceston and are looking for an innovative and motivated workforce to bring this new model to life.
The Launceston Head to is an innovative mental health service funded by Primary Health Tasmania, providing a one-stop hub and mental health support for people aged 18 years and older. The service's opening hours are 9am to 9pm, Monday to Friday and 10am to 2pm on weekends and public holidays.

Clinical: Deliver a contemporary level of profession-specific clinical services (e.g., assessment, treatment, and evaluation) within a multidisciplinary team in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards and apply clinical protocols including in the completion of documentation.Provide clinical supervision to your multidisciplinary team.Participate in providing comprehensive mental health assessment, case coordination, intervention or group work as required; with specific responsibility to provide Brief Interventions to a case load.Ensure the implementation of individual assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow up, multidisciplinary consultation, liaison with referring agents, discharge planning and evaluation of care using appropriate outcome and data measurement systems.Oversee the engagement, initial screening and psychosocial assessment of consumers and documentation by the intake process.Lead the Intake and Case Review process.Provide secondary consultation and specialist advice to the Clinical Team and other Centre staff. Where required escalate practice supervision or professional guidance concerns to the Services Manager.Monitor high-risk clients and ensure that appropriate assessment, management, follow-up support, and referral are provided.Provide leadership, management and development of clinical staff and operations.Demonstrate autonomy of practice to perform duties and engage in collaborative practice as required where indicated for the purpose of effective clinical management. Human Resources: Manage your team members' rosters, administration, and operational needs, in conjunction with the Service Manager, as needed.Ensure team members meet key deliverables as outlined in their individual work plans and position descriptions.Provide Operational Supervision to team members.Provide general supervision and support to students on clinical placements.Assist in the recruitment of staff, where appropriate.Enhance clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning via professional development activities. Strategic: Create an environment that promotes excellence in mental health and support services and a community of practice where practitioners can function in a supportive team environment.Oversee the implementation of relevant and innovative clinical services and contribute to program and research development to ensure integrity and quality of the service. General: Participate in and contribute to team meetings, training, and planning activities, service evaluation and quality assurance activities, including data collection.Promote the service, communicate regularly with, and build and maintain collaborative working relationships with program partners and all relevant internal and external stakeholders.Work in a healthy and safe manner and encourage others to do the same.Requirements: Must have one of the following: Full AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse, OR AASW mental health accreditation (or close to completion) as a Social WorkerLeadership/management experience or previously worked as a Senior Clinician in a multidisciplinary team for a minimum of 5 years.Demonstrated experience providing clinical services to mental health consumersWell-developed judgment and evaluation skills demonstrating a working understanding assessment and care planningUnderstanding of the public, non-government and private mental health systems and programs and associated non-mental health programs in a community settingDemonstrated interpersonal skills showing an ability and sensitivity to work with people who have or are at risk of developing a mental illnessDemonstrated skills in organisation and time-management, including the ability to work under pressure and balance multiple tasksExcellent verbal communication and written skillsMust be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWVPMust hold a current/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearanceVaccination against COVID-19 is a requirement for all positions (in accordance with Public Health Orders, Work Health and Safety and duty of care obligations for staff and participants/students).
