Position Overview
The College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University is seeking applications for tenure track faculty positions at the rank of assistant/associate professor in the Division of Restorative and Prosthetic Dentistry. The primary responsibility for this position will be directing and supporting didactic and clinical courses in the predoctoral restorative dentistry curricula. Other duties include contributing to the overall mission of the division, participating in university and college governance, supporting the college's continuing education programs, and practicing in the college's affiliated contemporary intramural Dental Faculty Practice .
Performance Objectives
Promote evidence-based teaching skills in an education setting, proficiency in prosthodontics, and a strong track record of scholarly activity. Demonstrate a passion for student education. Apply advanced technology to enhance teaching and learning. Participate in teaching activities consistent with division goals. Demonstrate effective teaching skills through student and peer reviews. May serve as course director which includes preparation and distribution of course materials, management of lecture/laboratory schedules, and conducting and grading of all examinations. Support a model for dental education that includes the incorporation of innovative technologies, interdisciplinary education and patient care, and evidence-based dentistry. Provide interdisciplinary mentoring to students. Demonstrate collaboration between college divisions. Participation in college and/or university committees. Membership in professional organizations and contributions to professional activities outside of the university. Live The Ohio State University's Shared Values. Tenure-track faculty are expected to achieve primary authorship of scholarly publications that are predominantly data-based appearing in well-respected refereed journals. Education and Experience Requirements
Required: Candidates must have a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent degree and a certificate of advanced education in prosthodontics from a CODA-accredited program. They also must be eligible for a regular or limited teaching license by the Ohio State Dental Board. Information on state dental licensure is available at dental.ohio.gov/Licensure/Dentist.
Desired: Preference will be given to candidates with training in dental materials, cariology, digital technology, and an MS, PhD, EdD, or other advanced degree.

The Division of Restorative and Prosthetic Dentistry is composed of several disciplines, including Operative Dentistry, Dental Anatomy, Occlusion, Fixed Prosthodontics, Removable Prosthodontics, Implant Dentistry, Digital Dentistry, and Dental Materials Science.
