ASIO is seeking experienced and passionate procurement officers to fill positions for a Director and Assistant Director of Procurement at the AEE1 and AEE2 levels. Procurement Managers employ a range of skills, including strategic thinking, negotiation, decision making, financial management and conflict resolution to ensure that relevant money expended on behalf of ASIO are done so in accordance with Commonwealth legislation and Organisational policies. A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position. This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months. Role responsibilities As a Procurement Manager at ASIO, you will:Use your experience working in either a procurement or contract administrator role to provide practical procurement and contract advice and support to clients.Represent ASIO at various internal and government forums.Prepare a range of written material including Senate Estimate Submissions, compliance reporting and organisational briefs.Maintain ASIO's procurement and contact management frameworks.Proactively drive and implement change and continuous improvement processes. Review procurements and contract related to ensure they are aligned with commonwealth's procurement rules and ASIO's frameworks and objectives. Review written material including reports, contracts and procurement documentation.Drive the delivery of procurement and contract management training to internal staff.Provide guidance, leadership, mentoring, support and development opportunities.Lead by example by promoting and implementing ASIO's Values and business partnering culture.Undertake other duties as directed.
