This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional to lead high-impact advocacy initiatives, influence policy and build strong relationships across government and industry, all while supporting one of Queensland's most dynamic regions.
Isaac Regional Council is a leader in resource management, clean energy transition and community sustainability. The Advocacy Coordinator will play a pivotal role in advancing these objectives by managing government relations and advocacy projects, providing strategic advice to the Mayor and Executive team and engaging key stakeholders at the state and federal levels.
Key Responsibilities: Lead strategic advocacy campaigns and projects.Build and maintain relationships with government departments, industry leaders and community stakeholders.Develop policy positions on key issues, including post-mining land use and renewable energy.Influence decision-makers to secure favourable outcomes for the region.Provide expert advice to the Mayor and Council on government relations.Ideal Candidate: Isaac Regional Council is seeking a candidate with strong experience in government relations, advocacy or policy development. The successful candidate will be a skilled communicator and negotiator, with a strategic mindset and the ability to manage complex advocacy projects. Political acumen and a deep understanding of government processes are essential for this role.
A degree in public relations, political science, business or a related field is required, and experience working with government agencies is highly desirable.
Salary & Benefits: Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000 + vehicle allowance + housing support.5 Year Contract position with opportunities to make a significant impact on the future of the region.This is a rare opportunity to join a forward-thinking council in a high-profile role, making a meaningful contribution to the region's growth and sustainability.
