Advisor / Senior Advisor Work Health and SafetyFull time, continuing appointmentProfessional level 7/8 salary- $91,642 to $116,253 paPlus 17% superannuation and 6 weeks annual leaveCasuarina CampusProvide strategies, advice and support to ensure a safe and healthy environment for work and study at Charles Darwin University About the PositionAs the Advisor/ Senior Advisor Work Health and Safety, you will work within a small team to provide strategies, advice and programs in support of a safe, healthy environment for work and study and will be responsible for the effective delivery of a range of WHS services and to promote a safety culture throughout the University. Some of your duties will include:Conducting workplace WHS inspections, assessments and audits; and providing reports on findings to clients to validate University compliance with Territory and Federal Regulations.Maintaining an electronic reporting process for accidents, incidents and near misses and other WHS concerns from stakeholders.Investigating, via root cause analysis where appropriate, developing recommendations and reporting on accidents, incidents and near misses in the workplace.About YouTo be successful, you will require:A degree with at least 4 years relevant experience in a work health and safety related role or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.Demonstrated knowledge of Legislation, Standards, Code of Practice, corporate goals and industry best practice related to WHS.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the Incident Investigation and audit process.Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and presentation skills for effective delivery of the work program with external stakeholders and staff at all levels within the University.Demonstrated ability to research, formulate, and evaluate complex policies and programs, and to promulgate and implement the policies and programs, through effective project management.This position is subject to Charles Darwin University Affirmative Action Priority Recruitment measures, in accordance with s57 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1992 (NT) 1992.First Nations applicants are strongly encouraged to apply & will be granted priority consideration for this vacancy.
