Reporting to the Director – Compliance & Safeworking , you'll support the oversight of safe working practices and rail safety accreditation across V/Line.

About the Role
This role is crucial in ensuring Safeworking protocols are adhered to and that individuals are appropriately qualified.
Key accountabilities:
Issue and contribute to Safeworking circulars. Supervise commissioning of new or altered systems and special train movements. Assist with accreditation of employees in Safeworking systems. Maintain and issue signalling diagrams. Support the maintenance and update of local Safeworking operating procedures. Issue Safety Critical Keys and maintain records. Provide Safeworking advice and direction. Maintain Interface Agreements as required by Rail Safety legislation. Perform track force protection audits and Safeworking qualification checks. Participate in investigations and risk assessment workshops as a subject matter expert. Support signalling alterations and commissioning activities. About You
You have a strong background in rail operating systems and train control, with experience in Safeworking systems used across the V/Line network. You possess a keen interest in building knowledge within the Safeworking environment and can carry out governance activities. You are professional, motivated, and committed to rail safety.
Key selection requirements:
Knowledge of rail operating systems, train control, and/or rail safety management systems. Experience with Safeworking systems used across the V/Line network. Geographical knowledge of V/Line network. Capable of handling administrative tasks efficiently with good time management skills. Able to carry out governance activities. Safeworking accreditation—or willingness to attain—along with a keen interest to build knowledge within the Safeworking environment. Salary & Benefits
Salary for this permanent, full-time role is in the range Clerk C4 (Base annual salary $98,630) to Clerk C7 (Base $115,831), in accordance with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2023 .
Benefits include 4-week's annual leave, 17.5% leave loading, super, and free myki for metro & regional travel.
